Africa Open DEAL data
Africa Open DEAL data
Between 2018 and 2020, FAO and the African Union, with the support of the Panafrican Agency of the Great Green Wall, regional and national institutions of 30 countries, coordinated a continental-scale data collection on many parameters related to biophysical environment, agriculture and land use.
Africa Open DEAL makes Africa the first continent to complete the collection of accurate, comprehensive, and harmonized digital land use and land use change data. These data are simultaneously important for the three Rio Conventions (UNCCD, UNFCC, CBD) as well as for monitoring and reporting against the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) indicators.
