Represented range

Evaporation (average): 0/300 mm

Evaporation (change): -30/55 mm

Evaporation (anomalies): -40/60mm

Description

Average annual Evaporation (E) for the last three years on record 2017-2019.  Evaporation expresses the actual evaporation of the soil surface.

Annual trend in Evaporation (E) changes for the years 2009-2019. Scale of the linear fit of the yearly sum of the E for the whole period.  Evaporation expresses the actual evaporation of the soil surface.

Difference of average annual Evaporation (E) for the years 2009-2019 compared to 2017-2019. Areas where the Evaporation values might have suffered anomalies in the last 3 years. Evaporation expresses the actual evaporation of the soil surface.

Transpiration

Transpiration (change)

Transpiration (anomalies)

Transpiration (average): 0/1,600 mm

Transpiration (change): -45/60 mm

Transpiration (anomalies): -45/60 mm

Average annual Transpiration (T) for the last three years on record 2017-2019. Transpiration expresses the actual transpiration of the vegetation canopy.

Annual trend Transpiration (T) changes for the years 2009-2019. Scale of the linear fit of the yearly sum of the T for the whole period. Transpiration expresses the actual transpiration of the vegetation canopy.

Difference of average annual Transpiration (T) for the years 2009-2019 compared to 2017-2019. Areas where the Transpiration values might have suffered anomalies in the last 3 years. Transpiration expresses the actual transpiration of the vegetation canopy.

Source data

Description

Until December 2019 the base input layers (NDVI, albedo, and fAPAR) for the Level 2 (100 m) products were derived from the Proba-V satellite. Proba-V was decommissioned in June 2020. From January 2020 onwards the base input layers of NDVI, albedo and fAPAR for level 2 are derived from the Copernicus Sentinel-2 mission.

Spatial resolution

Pixel size:

100 m (0.000992 degrees)

Temporal resolution

Period of observations: January, 2009 – present

Aggregation: annual mean

The annual aggregation is derived from a dekadal product.
