Select a layer

Georeferenced data that can be added to a map in Earth Map are called 'layers'. Multiple layers can be added to the map for visual assessment and comparison.

1. To select a layer in Earth Map you first need to select an Area of Interest, different Areas of Interest may have different sets of layers available (i.e. not all layers are available for all areas).

2. Layers in Earth Map are organized by themes / categories. Select the category for which you want to see available layers.

3. Turn on the layers you would like to add to the map. You can add more than one layer to the map. Layers will be added in the order that you turn them on, but you can rearrange them on the legend panel (which appears in the upper right-hand corner).

4. When adding two or more layers, the "Compare layer" tools appear. By clicking two of them,
